Welcome to my Baildon Bears, this is where my Childminding name came from as I have been making bears for 4 years as a hobby but made my very first bear at the tender age of 16 years, all my bears are made from old vintage wool blankets and are fully jointed with glass eyes, they are completly hand stitched and designed by me, I like to put blanket stitch around there ears as they are made from old blankets.

My Journey as a bear maker

I have only recently started making recycled bears, after years of making bears out of Mohair I got sick and tired of having to put a high price on my bears just so as I could afford to carry on making , and limiting my market as only bear collectors could justify spending £45.00 plus on a bear, I decided to make my bears out of lovely vintage wool blankets, but still putting all my skill and unique style in to my bears, I feel my bears are even more special and unique now.

Unfortunatly my bears are not toys and are unsuitable for children under 14 years of age. But would make an ideal gift as a keep sake for a small child or as a lovely gift for an adult.

My Childminding buisness plays a big part in the design of my bears, I am constantly inspired by my beautiful mindees.
